I consider it an honor to be able to walk alongside individuals through their journey to wellness. As a counsellor, my hope for individuals is that they come to a greater understanding of who they are, learn effective ways of coping with life's transitions and stresses, and learn to embrace life's joys and beauty. I believe that the client is the expert in his or her own life, and that my role as a counsellor is to be a sounding board or facilitator through the therapeutic process. I strive to develop a positive relationship with clients based on honesty, trust, empathy and authenticity, and I believe in creating a sacred, secure space for clients so that they may feel comfortable and safe.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. I have a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Counselling Psychology from Trinity Western University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Visual Art and Psychology. I have had experience working with adults, adolescents and children, as well as individuals from various cultural and spiritual backgrounds. I have also worked with college students and local agencies including mental health and community services. Aside from my own practice, I also work with Fraser Birth Collaborative, where I provide counselling services to women navigating challenges and changes related to pregnancy and postpartum.
I live in beautiful Abbotsford, BC, with my husband and three children. When I'm not working I enjoy being outdoors, reading, playing the piano, staying active, and spending time with my family.
